The Partnership for a Lead-Free Future will host this webinar to provide practical guidance on communicating to help prevent and address childhood lead poisoning.
This webinar complements Tool 5 in the Lead-Free Future Toolkit, which was developed to support communication professionals working on lead exposure issues in low-and-middle income countries. It provides an overview of different communication and advocacy strategies that can be utilized according to target audiences: policymakers, service providers, caregivers and the private sector. It includes examples of best practices and applications of communication theory in different real-world case studies from work conducted in Georgia, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Ghana and the United States.
This webinar will share two communication case studies from Ghana and Bangladesh.
Speakers:
- Dr. Emmanuel Kyeremateng-Amoah, Health Specialist, UNICEF Ghana
- Faria Selim, Communication Specialist, UNICEF Bangladesh
- Bret Ericson, Environmental Health Consultant, UNICEF (moderator)
This webinar is part of the Lead-Free Future for Every Child series and marks the fifth installment. Be sure to revisit earlier sessions: the first webinar explored sources of childhood lead exposure, the second reviewed how to conduct blood lead level surveys, the third shared how to conduct an environmental lead exposure risk assessment and the fourth how to take a whole-of-government approach to address childhood lead poisoning.
