As a founding partner, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is committed to protecting children from the impacts of air pollution and lead. They commit to the following activities.
- Advocate for prioritizing children’s environmental health in key international forums, including through joint co-branded communication and advocacy products, when feasible.
- Contribute research on the specific impacts of climate change and environmental degradation on children’s
health and sharing guidance, tools and best-practices to protect children from these impacts, with a particular
focus initially on air pollution and lead. - Provide technical assistance, expertise and technical resources on children’s environmental health.
- Participate in joint convenings and promote coherent approaches to protecting children's environmental health.
