Yemen (Ministry of Health and Populations)

As a partner, the Ministry of Health and Populations in Yemen is committed to protecting children from the impacts of climate change and environmental degradation.

As part of their contribution to the Collaborative, they commit to the following activities:

  1. Advocate for prioritizing children's environmental health in international forums by sharing Yemen's experiences and developing case studies on environmental impacts on Yemeni children's health.
  2. Contribute research on climate change and environmental impacts on children's health, focusing on issues like water scarcity, air pollution and climate-related disasters, while developing locally-adapted protection guidelines.
  3. Provide technical expertise on addressing climate-exacerbated malnutrition and implementing community-based interventions in resource-limited settings.
  4. Participate in joint efforts to develop strategies for fragile states facing environmental challenges and integrate children's environmental health into humanitarian response plans.
  5. Strengthen national capacity by establishing a database on children's environmental health indicators and training health care workers on related risks.
  6. Promote cross-sectorial collaboration through a national task force and integrated programmes addressing both immediate health needs and long-term environmental resilience for children.
