As a partner, Vital Strategies is committed to protecting children’s health and development from the impacts of climate change and environmental degradation.

As part of their contribution to the Collaborative, they commit to the following activities:

  • Contribute to UNICEF’s and global knowledge about children’s environmental health surveillance, indicator development, data sharing and products.
  • Share experience on engaging the health service sector and public health sector to better understand and influence programs and policies that influence and mitigate the risk to children from natural, climate, industrial and built environment conditions.
  • Advocate, when feasible, for prioritizing children’s environmental health in key international forums, including through joint co-branded communication and advocacy products.
  • Contribute research on the specific impacts of climate change and environmental degradation on children’s health and sharing guidance, tools and best-practices to protect children.
  • Provide technical assistance, expertise, and technical resources on children’s environmental health.
  • Participate in joint convenings and promote coherent approaches to protecting children environmental health.
