Bangladesh (Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change)

As a partner, Bangaldesh's Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change is committed to protecting children from the impacts of climate change and environmental degradation. As part of their contribution to the Collaborative, they commit to the following activities:

1. Advocate for prioritizing children's environmental health in key international forums, including through joint co-branded communication and advocacy products, when feasible.
2. Contribute research on the specific impacts of climate change and environmental degradation on children's health and sharing guidance, tools and best practices to protect children from these impacts.
3. Provide technical assistance, expertise and technical resources on children's environmental health.
4. Participate in joint convenings and promote coherent approaches to protecting children's environmental health.
5. Develop national policies, strategies, regulations and guidelines on children's health caused due to climate change and environmental degradation as well as pollution by heavy metals and toxic substances particularly lead poisoning.
6. Monitor children's environmental health through surveys, testing and assessments where feasible in collaboration with partner support.
7. Enhnce capacity of laboratories for testing heavy metals in both health and other sectors coupled with strategic investments in training professionals across the public and private spheres.
8. Strengthen national campaign on awareness building regarding health impact from heavy metals and toxic substances, as well as climate change and environmental degradation.
